As I might have mentioned long time ago, I had a PhD student that worked on the characterization and distribution of water masses in the Atlantic Ocean. Now, after a few years this paper is now accepted for publication. We wanted to provide the data file with the water mass fractions to users. Initially I intended to upload the csv file to the journal as supplementary information, but it turns out the journal prefer to have a link to a repository outside of the journal. My question to you is if you see it as possible to post this together with other files for GLODAPv2 on OCADS? I think that would be a great option if that is possible. An alternative would probably be BCDC in Bergen. I know that this is a derived product, but I think it is labeled as such. The file has some information in the header pointing to the paper (Liu and Tanhua, 2021 - needs to be updated when the paper is published), but would probably be good to write a short data description to go with this data set (a NDP?). Here is the link to my cloud where I put the file, https://cloud.geomar.de/s/BknDN3MQH2wPTQj I also attached the latest version of the paper, please do not post this or share, but for your reference. Please let me know if this is possible. We are supposed to upload the final files by February 9. As a matter of fact, I did discuss this with Carsten Schirnick at the DM here in Kiel (you know him from the adjustment table work), and he suggested adding the headers. I think your solution is better with a short readme txt file. As a matter of fact I am very aware of the FAIR requirements, and fully support them, so whatever I can do to make the data more FAIR, and still have them in a format that is reasonable easy to use, is good. It is possible to add the expocodes in the file. But for the same reasons we did not include the expocodes in the csv files for GLODAP, I prefer not to do it here either. I added EXPOCODEs and cruise numbers conversion in the README file. Attached the readme. The data file can be downloaded from here: https://cloud.geomar.de/s/nxMB3mxdjCsMQBa With best regards, Toste.
