From: Are Olsen Date: Mon, Oct 19, 2020 at 5:54 AM Subject: Corrected GLODAPv2.2020 files To: Alex Kozyr - NOAA Affiliate Cc: Camilla Stegen Landa Hi Alex and Camilla  A few things sufficiently critical to warrant changes in the GLODAPv2.2020 product files were pointed out by the reviewers.  1. Neutral density, the variable Gamma in the files. This was calculated using the polynomial approximation of Serazin (2011).  Guillaume Serazin and Paul Barker, have recently informed us that these polynomials should not be used to calculate neutral density. Therefore, this variable has been calculated using the original Jackett and McDougall neutral density code, available here http://www.teos-10.org/preteos10_software/neutral_density.html 2. The variable fCO2temp was -9999/NaN for calculated fCO2 for new cruises. This is incorrect; it should have been 20. These two issues have been corrected in the files that can be retrieved from here https://cloud.geomar.de/s/SFkggS3aHdgcGjb As the first issue is rather critical, we prefer that the files available at OCADS and via glodap.info are updated as soon as possible. It would be great if you could go ahead and do this Alex, then we can also include the citation information (doi etc) in the revised GV2.2020 manuscript.  Thank you, Are.
