***************************************************************** Journal for accession number: 0162209 Created on: 2017-03-27 20:24:13 UTC By: Alex Kozyr, National Centers for Environmental Information Source: Kevin Sullivan, NOAA/AOML submitted these data to former CDIAC on October 1, 2013 Action(s): The original data and metadata files were sent to CDIAC as ZIP file via CDIAC OME. The ZIP data file was unzipped and published at CDIAC. NCEI personnel transferred the data set from CDIAC archive to NCEI system and then to the directory of data/0-data/. NCEI personnel extracted the longitude and latitude data, and plotted a sampling station map. Both the generated longitude latitude file and the sampling station map were saved in the directory of about/. NCEI personnel also converted the .xls files to .csv and pdf, and saved them in the data/1-data/ directory. Files: about/ This directory contains files created by NCEI staff, email correspondence, and other 'negotiable' information between NCEI staff and the data provider. 0162209_lonlat.txt - Contains station locations for these data. Each row contains the geographical position where these data were collected (longitude in the left column and latitude in the right column, both in decimal degrees). NCEI may have corrected or omitted geographic positions that seemed to be in error when generating this file. However, NCEI did not change the original data files under the directory data/0-data/. 0162209_map.jpg - Station location map for the data. 0-email.txt - E-mail from personnel notifying NCEI that they sent their data to the NCEI via SOCAT automated system email. data/0-data/ This directory contains the data files as submitted to NCEI. data/1-data/ This directory contains data and metadata files that were converted by NCEI from their originally submitted format to an archival format. *.csv - Comma-separated-value (CSV) files that NCEI converted from the Microsoft Excel file in /0-data. *.csv - comma-separated-value (CSV) files that NCEI converted from the Microsoft Excel file in 0-data/. For multi-spreadsheet files, the sheet name is appended to the file basename, separated by an dash (-).
